Happy September! Today I’m sharing our fall bucket list with a free printable.
We like to make a big deal out of different seasons and holidays in our house… and the fall season is one of our favorites to celebrate each year. I love to decorate the house in pumpkins and fall colors, and the kids love all the fun activities planned for Halloween and Thanksgiving. And living in Texas, we all LOVE to celebrate the change in weather here!
We like to celebrate the fall by doing some classic fall activities: Going on a hayride or to a pumpkin patch, carving pumpkins, trick-or-treating, making pies etc.
But, because I’m also big on traditions, we like to throw in a few traditional activities, one of our favorites is our thankful tree. Every day in the month of November, each person writes what they are thankful for on a paper leaf, and we slowly build ourselves a thankful tree which becomes our centerpiece for Thanksgiving. If you’re short on time but still want to write down your daily thanks, you can do the same thing with a permanent marker and a big pumpkin.
While we all love our classic and traditional celebrations, my boys really enjoy getting artistic and creative with our celebrating while also learning about the history behind each holiday. We like to learn about how others around the world celebrate the holidays too. My kids enjoy getting artistic or crafty, making things like different art projects with apples or leaves, and this year we are adding a new one to or list… Oobleck Halloween Slime.
Year 2020 has kept us all on our toes. So celebrating Halloween and Thanksgiving might look a little different this year. Keeping that in mind, I put together a Fall Bucket List with things that we can do while keeping our distance from others. Having a costume contest at home with family might look a little different than having a costume parade at school, but I think we can still have a lot of fun with it!
I made this fall bucket list to help us keep up with all of our fun fall activities. I’ll be posting the free printable below, so if you want to follow along with us, you can! These things are pretty general, and you can definitely combine some of them together. Most of these things can be done keeping your distance from others (thanks to COVID).
